Research has shown that sunscreen alone may not provide adequate protection from environmental damage. This is often due to 2 factors: 1) most people do not apply the proper amount of sunscreen for adequate protection (which may lead to only half the protection stated on the bottle), and 2) sunscreens alone may only block about 55% of the free radicals generated by UV exposure.
