SculpSure: The New Fat Blaster

Sometimes stubborn body fat won’t budge – even when you’re making exercise and a healthy diet a priority. When your spin class and daily salad aren’t cutting it, there’s a new option for, literally, melting the fat away.
Called SculpSure, the laser-based system uses heat to zap fat cells and was recently approved by the FDA for permanent fat removal.
It’s a great way to get rid of belly, hip, and thigh fat or just about any other area, which can stick around despite the most stringent exercise regimes, as long as the procedure supplements a foundation of basic good health habits.
With so many new options for laser-based, non-invasive fat removal, the treatment options can get confusing. Here’s everything you need to know about SculpSure:
It uses controlled light-based laser technology to get the job done.
While subcutaneous fat is targeted, the surface of the skin is kept cool to prevent burning or damaging non-fat tissue. SculpSure uses several small laser applicator pads to deliver the fat-killing heat directly to pockets of problem fat cells.
Laser applicators mean more custom contouring.
For subtle, all-over results, the four SculpSure applicators can treat different areas simultaneously. But using all four applicators in one general area – like love handles, thigh fat or the abdomen – is the best option for treating larger areas because it allows the procedure to target the most fat cells in one given area.
No Downtime.
On average, treatment times last about 25 minutes and there is essentially no downtime. Patients may see some slight swelling, but can go back to daily activities immediately. The lasers are designed to cool skin while delivering the heat, so it’s safe for even sensitive skin and skin types of all color.
Results show up between 8 and 12 weeks.
While there’s no downtime, pain or recovery involved in SculpSure sessions, the time it takes to see results can be anywhere from 8 to 12 weeks. That might seem like an eternity for those looking to shed a dress size (or two). But the results are worth the wait. Clinical studies have shown that the procedure can permanently destroy a whopping 24% of the treated fat cells in one session.
As the newest fat-zapping laser to join the market, SculpSure looks like a great way to address stubborn pockets of fat especially those resistant to diet and exercise. On average, patients can expect to lose around an inch from the area being treated. For those looking to target smaller, more localized areas – other noninvasive treatments like Coolsculpting might be a better option.
North Dallas Dermatology Associates recently added SculpSure to the practice’s lineup of fat-targeting laser treatments! Give us a call at 214-301-5078 to learn more and schedule your complimentary consultation.
