Spring Break Beach Ready Tips
- Posted on: Sep 21 2015
The snow may have just melted here in Dallas but spring break is in just weeks. Don’t be caught without preparing your skin and body for those sunny days on the beach! There are so many tips that can get your skin and body ready to be in a bathing suit with confidence. Here are just a few…
First, make sure you have your beach bag filled with all the essentials. Most important is a sunscreen with zinc or titanium and SPF of at least 30. However, if you are planning on being in the sun most of the day I recommend SPF 50 and reapplying every 4 hours. Also look for swim shirts and hats that have “UPF” (universal protection factor) on the tag, as they provide the same protection as sunscreen. Websites such as Coolibar and Athleta as well as your local sporting goods stores carry lots of cute and affordable UPF clothing for all ages. Also try to sit under an umbrella or in the shade.
Next are fast “last minute” things you can do to be looking your best. The only safe tan is one that is achieved through self-tanning lotions and sprays. Run from tanning beds as they increase your risk for melanoma, the most deadly of skin cancers, by 75%. Be sure to exfoliate and shave before your self-tanning lotion or spray application to get an even coverage. NDDA offers professional airbrush spray tanning services year round that are quick and natural looking!
Third, there are a few body procedures that take a bit more time for results but will have you ready for summer. Laser hair removal is a safe and effective way to remove hair and avoid constantly waxing and shaving. It takes months to achieve the best results, so for this one you need to plan ahead. For body slimming, Coolsculpting is a great spot treatment for stubborn areas around the mid-section and thighs. Apollo can also be used for body contouring and skin tightening. If you have any interest in these procedures, just make an appointment with ourcosmetic consultant, Taylor, who can discuss downtime and costs, plus answer any other questions you may have.
With these tips you can enjoy a safe and healthy spring break!
