Tumescent Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction uses local anesthesia, allowing for a more comfortable experience.

Who is an ideal candidate for this procedure?

Liposuction is an excellent option for the vast majority of men and women who would like to remove one or more stubborn pockets of fat that have been resistant to diet and exercise efforts. However, in order to be considered a good liposuction candidate, you must meet the following criteria:

• Good overall health
• Realistic expectations for the outcome of the procedure
• Exercise regularly and are relatively fit
• Have good skin elasticity
• Are able to maintain a healthy, stable weight

What to expect during the recovery process:

Our team will provide you with very specific pre and post-op instructions for your liposuction treatment which can vary depending on the area(s) being treated. 

You will be able to go home the same day of surgery. Make sure you arrange for someone to drive you home since you will still be under the lingering effects of anesthesia. Many patients find that they are able to return to work within 48 hours of their treatment. 

Post-operative pain is minimal, and we will prescribe medication to help you manage any discomfort you may experience. There may be some minor swelling and bruising that will gradually subside during the first few weeks of your recovery. A compression garment is typically worn for 4-6 weeks to control the swelling and ensure your new body contour achieves its desired shape.

When will you see results?

Most patients start to see results within a few weeks of treatment as their swelling starts to go down. The results will gradually improve over the next several months as your body completely heals from the procedure. While we do remove the fat cells, it is still possible to gain weight after liposuction if you do not maintain a healthy lifestyle.
