AHA’s help to increase exfoliation and hydration of the skin, both of which tend to slow down with age and sun exposure. AHA’s loosen the glue that holds dead cells together. As the outer dead skin layer is exfoliated, younger, healthier and smoother skin is revealed.
Some products with high levels of AHA’s produce too much irritation, while others are too weak to make a difference. Our Vivité line contains two to three times the amount of glycolic acid than those found over-the-counter at comparable prices. These products contain a special formulation of glycolic acid to increase the efficacy without added irritation. Glycolic acid is a type of AHA found naturally in sugar cane. Through the science of partial neutralization, higher concentrations may be applied safely to the skin.
A mild tingling sensation may occur after you first start to use these products. It is normal and usually subsides after the first several times of use.
